Footers for a possible hyper coaster at KD should be visable on opening day of KD.  If you ride the Anaconda, they should be visable from the lift if you look left.  Don't panic though if you don't see them because they may pop up later like around May, June, or July.  Footers made of concrete take a long time to solidify, so they have to be made long before the coaster is constructed.  If you see footers elsewhere throughout the season, let me know because to the left of Anaconda is just a rumored spot and they may be somewhere else.

I have heard rumors that Carowinds in the Carolinas may get a new hyper coaster for next year. This is suprising (read Weekly KD talk). First, they steal our boomerang from Geauge Lake and we get two flat rides and now possibly they steal our hyper coaster.  What I have heard does not indicate the size or type of coaster going to carowinds, but this is my guess.  When will Cedar Fair stop giving us Geauga Lake rides (Dominator, Americana, and El Dorado) and give KD some TLC instead of giving Carowinds 2 coaster years in a row.  Please E-mail me your thoughts on this subject.

New at Kings Dominion for 2009 is (drum roll please) a ferris wheel (Americana) and a ride similar to a magic carpet ride (El Dorado) originally located at Geauga Lake like Dominator. The Link below is from Kings Dominion's website (it is the press release).
